Ian grew-up in San Francisco & Arkansas. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Arkansas. Ian​​ began his legal career as a public defender in Washington County, Oregon; and eventually moved on to private practice. While at Hoffman Law, Ian successfully argued and won a Motion for a Judgment of Acquittal for a client charged with Manslaughter in the First Degree.​​​
