Carlita grew up in Weatherford, Texas; and graduated from Texas Christian University. Carlita earned her law degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. While a student, she gained invaluable experience working on §1983 civil rights litigation involving police brutality and wrongful death, as well as plaintiff's medical malpractice and personal injury lawsuits.

As an attorney, Carlita began her legal career as a public defender in Washington County, Oregon, where she eventually opened up her own practice. Carlita is a spirited and sophisticated advocate who always strives for the best possible outcomes for her clients.
